What is a Deliberate Dad?
Most dads live in reaction mode—juggling work, family, and personal goals while feeling like they’re always one step behind. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
A Deliberate Dad is a man who leads with intention. He’s in control of his time, energy, and focus. He’s not just getting through the week—he’s designing it. He’s present with his family, excelling in his career, and staying strong in his health. He has clarity on his priorities and the systems in place to execute them.
If you’re a high-achieving dad who refuses to settle for ‘just getting by,’ this is for you. It’s time to move from reactive to proactive. From overwhelmed to in command. From stretched thin to thriving.
You don’t need more hours in the day—you need Prime Time.

It’s not time you need, it’s Prime Time
Pushing harder, all the productivity hacks, even jumping in a f*cking ice bath at 5am every morning isn’t going to get you what you want.
Real progress, change, and growth come from one thing: taking deliberate action.
The more action we take, the faster we reach our goals. So you don’t need to’ save more time’, you don’t need to ‘find balance.’
You need Prime Time— dedicated hours for deliberate action.
It’s about creating dedicated hours for deliberate action. As the more action you take the faster you will move towards your goals.
With your days full of Prime Time you feel completely in control.
You wake up clear-headed, knowing exactly what needs to get done.
With structured routines and focused systems, there’s no more overwhelm, distractions, or decision fatigue. Key work blocks, family time, and date nights are proactively scheduled—no last-minute scrambling or stress.
Instead of endlessly scrolling on Instagram reels for self-help tips, you’ll take deliberate actions aligned with your goals—pitching big ideas at work, doing storytime with the kids, and making it to every Crossfit class.
You smash it at work, are present at home and are prioritising your health.
You’re not just “getting by”—you’re absolutely flying, knowing you’ve built the solid foundation needed to be the man and dad you’ve always wanted to be.
About me
The Thought PT is me, Steve Cardwell, a Berkshire based, Northern Irish born coach.
I became a coach because I experienced the full life changing effects that coaching can have when you commit to the process and I want to work with others to help them to experience the same benefits.
When I had kids I realised the true meaning of ‘not enough hours in the day’ but I refused to accept the fact that ‘this is the way it has to be’
So I have been working on myself, experimenting, trialling routines, systems, structures and ways of living so I can grow my business without sacrificing the things that are the most important to me: my family, my health and my relationships.
And across 1-1, group coaching and events I work with other Dads to make that happen in their lives.
